In 2025, conductor François Bernier was arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual misconduct involving a minor. The alleged offenses occurred between 2002 and 2003 and involved a then 14-year-old. Following his arrest, Sherbrooke Wind Orchestra, University of Sherbrooke, and Victoriaville Wind Ensembles cancelled performances involving Bernier.
