John Copley is a stage director and producer.
In 2018 the New York Times reported Metropolitan Opera terminated renowned opera stage director and producer John Copley after allegations of sexual misconduct against a chorister. Allegedly Copley stated that he was thinking of the chorister naked. The termination happened in the wake of the Metropolitan Opera’s investigation former music director James Levine and triggered union opposition.
