The Sage City Symphony severed ties with Zeke Hecker in 2021 after his past
sexual abuse of students was made public. The misconduct occurred while he was
a high school English teacher in the 1970s and 1980s. Hecker’s actions were
confirmed by his own admissions: a 2021 public apology and a 1982 letter to a
victim in which he acknowledged committing statutory rape.
