Elliott Higgins

Elliott Higgins played horn and was a conductor and composer.

Elliott Higgins, born in 1941, was a renowned horn player and teacher. By the 1970s Higgins was convicted of multiple sex crimes including assault on a minor and served in prison in Ohio. He died in 2014 at age 73. In 2023 DNA evidence tied him to cold cases rapes in Tuscaloosa as well as an attempted rape in Colorado. The rape cases dated back to 1991 and 2001 and occurred when Higgins was a judge for a music competition at University of Alabama.
