Shawn Oakes is a tenor and director.
In 2018 Shawn Oakes was convicted and sentenced to 2 years in jail for sexually assaulting a then 15-year-old student in 2015. Oakes admitted to the accusations during presentencing. He continues to direct and sing with multiple professional ensembles, including colleague Noel Edison’s Edison Singers as of 2026.
