Philip Pickett plays recorder and is a director.
In 2013, renowned early music expert Philip Pickett was arrested after multiple allegations of historical sexual assault. In 2015 he was sentenced to 11 years in prison for rape and sexual assault dating back to the 1970s. Although one student reported her 1978 assault to the police contemporaneously, no action was taken, and Guildhall’s response to another accuser in 1984 was that she should study elsewhere.
