Benjamin Vickers is a conductor.
Benjamin Vickers was associate conductor to Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and close advisor to its founder Benjamin Zander. In the aftermath of his BPYO colleague David St. George’s 2018 arrest for child pornography, several students accused Vickers of sending sexually suggestive messages. Vickers was suspended and resigned shortly thereafter. Vickers is one of three people hired by Benjamin Zander found to have engaged in illegal or have engaged in illegal or inappropriate sexual behavior; the first such incident led to the dismissal of Zander from his first youth orchestra, the NEC Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
