Patrick Walders

Patrick Walders is a conductor and director.

In 2018 Patrick Walders was suspended with pay from San Diego State University after allegations of an improper sexual relationship. La Jolla Symphony and Chorus also suspended Walders. An investigation by Voice of San Diego revealed that Walders had an earlier 2016 Title IX investigation substantiating an improper sexual relationship with a student under his supervision. In the aftermath of the 2018 allegations, Walder sued two former students for defamation but later dropped the suit. It is unclear when his relationship with SDSU ended or whether there were disciplinary proceedings after the 2016 Title IX case. As of 2025 he remains the founding artistic director of San Diego Pro Arte Voices.
