Claude Eric Trachy played violin.
In October 2015, Claude Eric Trachy was arrested for multiple charges of sex offenses involving female children. In April 2018, Claude Eric Trachy was found not guilty of dozens of charges of historic indecent assault and sexual assault involving his minor students over multiple decades. The original trial judge ruled that Trachy had no sexual intent in asking his minor female students to disrobe and touching their breasts. The Ontario appeals court overturned the acquittals in July 2019 and issued 28 convictions, mainly involving girls between 10 and 16. He was sentenced to eight months plus 2 years probation and was granted early parole within 3 months. According to Sarnia NewsToday Trachy was first charged with sex offenses in 1991. He was a self-employed violin teacher from 1960-2009. He died in November 2023.
