Owen Carman plays cello and is a director.
In 2008 Sun Community News reported a lawsuit against Meadowmount School of Music for alleged sexual misconduct committed by then director Owen Carman against a then 16-year-old student in 2005. Carman responded with a counter-suit for extortion and defamation. The Michigan Daily reported that a settlement was reached. Carman performed and recorded as part of Meadowmount Trio with colleague Stephen Shipps.
